Questions & answers
Which documents do I need when it comes to the leasing contract?
It depends on your situation:
- private customer: identity card, tax notice, bank details, proof of address
- professionals: commercial register entry, last balance sheet, bank details of the company, identity card of the applicant
Why are the application fees so high?
The administration fee is 15% of the total amount of the bike. They are equivalent to the financing organization’s payment. The latter is the bicycle owner during the entire leasing period.
Can I benefit from financial aid when hiring an electric bike?
There are many grants available for the purchase of an electric bike. However, there are sometimes special arrangements for renting an electric bike in certain regions or local councils. We therefore invite you to contact them for further information. If you accept the purchase option that will be offered to you at the end of your contract, a new one will be signed, making you the effective bike owner. You will then be able to apply for a grant.
What to do in case of a technical problem with the bike?
We encourage you to contact our after-sales team to find a solution for a repair.

Is the insurance included?
Even if you are not the bike owner, you are responsible for it during the entire leasing period. An insurance will be offered at the time of the subscription, which you are free to subscribe or not.
In addition, for bicycles costing more than 4500€, you must provide a certificate against theft. To get it, please contact your usual insurer. You should know that many of them have additional agreements to the home insurance that cover the theft of so-called “recreational equipment” .
Can I take advantage of the cargo bike leasing if I don't live in France?
Unfortunately no, this service can only be subscribed in France (documents provided at the subscription must show a French address). However, once you have subscribed, you can use your U-Cargo in Europe. Please contact us for more information.
If I decide not to keep the bike at the end of the leasing period, who pays for the return and when?
The return costs have not been included in the overall cost of the cargo bike leasing contract. You will not have to pay anything if the bike is returned in person to our adress in Villeurbanne (France). On the other hand, you will have to pay the delivery costs yourself if you have to use a delivery company services.
An email with a summary will be sent to you in the previous weeks to know the exact return conditions. Once the bike is received, it will be checked by our teams. You will be charged for any repair costs if the bike needs it. Likewise, damaged or missing accessories will be charged at their residual value (20% of their cost after 12 months, 15% after 24 months, 10% after 36 months).
